I’m sure you clicked on the link to this article because you want to see what her name is, but let me tell you how it all began.
Roxy, our oldest dog currently, has been stuck to me like glue for the past few weeks; months even. It has gotten tiring and overwhelming at some points. I knew she needed a friend, a sibling.
Ryan and I talked about getting another dog but honestly weren’t 100% sure as they are a lot of work and we’re settled with Roxy.
Then we saw her. A man was selling puppies in a Facebook yardsale group, and I just so happened to fall in love with the biggest of the litter. She was huge!
I messaged the man, and to my surprise, the puppies were each quite affordable. We started calling her Chubby Potato at this point. She didn’t really look like a dog just yet, at a few days old, so Potato seemed fitting.
As she got older, the man informed me that her mother had in fact rejected her, and he was feeding her. I made a joke about how she’s double the size of her litter mates, no wonder why her mother didn’t want to feed her anymore.
We decided that since he’s feeding her, there isn’t much more he can do for her than I can do. I already have Roxy for Potatoes socialization. He agreed that I can pick her up when she turns 6 weeks old and continue on what he’s already doing.
Which brings us to last night; Sunday, August 28th.
I was just about to send the man a facebook message asking for updated photos when I received a message from him!
He pretty much said that she’s a fat and healthy Potato and that if I wanted, we could go pick her up and take her home. This entire time we were in contact, we were Facebook friends, so he was able to see how (if I can toot my own horn…) I take very good care of my pets and treat them like my children.
We hurried across town, brought her back, and I present to you…
Lacie
She is currently One Month old + 2 days. She hates her puppy formula (I personally think it stinks also) but enjoys a few pieces of kibble every so often. Indifferent to cats but likes the bunnies, loves sleep, thinks Roxy is terrifying (the feeling is mutual)
Aww totally cute name and I still like potato too
