Whatever it is, when you are keen to busy yourself with something that is likely to benefit others in some profound way, it has a way of making you feel better about yourself. It is also the kind of thing which is easily done, and provides a genuine lasting feeling of accomplishment for you as well. There are many ways to help out in your local community, and it’s just a matter of choosing one which speaks to you personally. You might decide to volunteer with Habitat and build homes for people who need them. You might choose to work at a food bank or homeless shelter. Focus On The Haves

When we are low, we tend to have a way of focusing mostly on what we lack, rather than what we have. Doing so of course only makes you fall deeper and deeper into a pit of depression, so it’s a good idea to make sure that you are focusing on the haves more than the have nots. Although it can be hard when you already feel bad, it does help, and it’s something that is worth thinking about.
