A couple of days ago, I did something so bold, and so spur of the moment I would have never thought I would do. If you know me, you know I am not a spur of the moment kind of girl. I usually take at least a few days to a month to think about something so life-changing. I have never, ever, done something like this before, and I don’t know why I did it, I guess I was just fed up and needed the change.
You see, all my life I have always had long, black, thick hair. It was so thick that I was constantly purchasing hair elastics because they would often break when trying to make a pony tail.
If you have black (or dark) hair, you know how hot your head gets in summer when the sun is beaming down on it. My head was always so sweaty, itchy and it was getting ridiculous.
As I look back, and think, the shortest I have ever cut my hair was a mushroom cut, back in the 90’s when mushroom cuts were popular. You know, cut just below the ears,and shaved in the back. That’s as short as I’ve ever had it and never thought of having it any shorter.
I don’t know what came over me, but I finally did it! I shaved my head for the first time ever!! I didn’t shave it bald, but close. I used the #2 attachment on the shaver and I think it looks great and my husband loves it (He even helped me shave it off!).
Honestly, I don’t know why I never did this before. It’s so refreshing and I feel so much cooler, especially when i’m out walking and hiking. The new cut makes me feel amazing and I think I’m going to be shaving my head every year before the summer heat hits.
Since shaving my head, I have only had positive experiences.

– Low maintenance – no brushing or styling in the morning!
– Use less shampoo & conditioner
– No more long hair in my husbands face when cuddling!
– No more frizzy hair
– It feels awesome!
When you think about it, It’s only hair and it will grow back.

I don’t know why I never did it before. I now just get out of bed, take a quick shower, dry off and off I go. No more spending 15 minutes trying to dry my hair. It’s so liberating!
Looks great! I shaved my head once but it didn’t suit the shape of my head. I’m jealous of ladies who suit short hair!
