Andis Cordless EasyClip Li Clipper #AndisPets

The Andis Company, a family held business founded in 1922, is a leading manufacturer of handheld tools to trim, cut, curl, straighten and dry hair. The company’s products are purchased in more than 90 countries by barbers and salon professionals, consumers, hotels, motels, resorts, small animal groomers and large animal groomers and shearers.

I had the pleasure to try out the Andis Cordless EasyClip Li Clippers
This lightweight, pro-caliber cordless/corded clipper offers consistent clipping power and long-lasting performance to help keep your pet looking his best! The Andis Cordless EasyClip Li Adjustable Blade Clipper features a Lithium-Ion battery for more than 2 hours of run time and complete charging in 90 minutes or less. A powerful rotary motor delivers 5,500 spm (strokes per minute) for quick, robust performance.

Ideal for single-coated breeds, the medium-duty Andis Cordless EasyClip Li Adjustable Blade Clipper weighs less than 10 oz, works with a cord adapter (included) for reliable power, and includes a high-speed blade that adjusts from sizes 30 to 9 for cutting versatility.

FEATURES:

  • Lightweight, pro-caliber clipper offers consistent power & long-lasting performance.
  • Lithium-Ion battery runs for more than 2 hours, charges in 90 minutes or less.
  • 5,500 spm rotary motor and adjustable blade.
  • Cord/cordless feature.
  • Blade adjusts from sizes 30 to 9 for versatility in cutting.

The 7″-long Andis Cordless EasyClip Li Adjustable Blade Clipper includes; a charging adapter, 6 attachment combs (1/8″, 1/4″ 3/8″, 1/2″, 3/4″, 1″), blade guard, blade oil, instructions, and a hard storage case.

ATTACHMENT COMBS:

You can set the blades for a longer cut by using any of the attachment combs made for your Andis clipper. The combs mount easily, simply slip the cutter blade teeth into the comb and snap the comb down. To remove, simply snap off. These attachment combs guide hair into the blades and give you precise control of hair lengths. The length of trim is indicated on the attachment comb.

CARE:

The internal mechanism of your clipper has been permanently lubricated at the factory. Other than the recommended maintenance described in this manual, no other maintenance should be performed, except by The Andis Company or an Andis Authorized Service Station.

The blades should be oiled before, during, and after each use. If your clipper blades leave streaks or slow down, it’s a sure sign the blades need oil. Place a few drops of Andis Clipper Oil on the front and side of the cutter blades. Wipe excess oil off the blades with a soft, dry cloth.

MY EXPERIENCE:

My cat gets groomed on a regular basis, therefore, I expected this to be easy. I started by introducing the clipper to my cat, letting him sniff it while it was off. I then proceeded to turn the clipper on which terrified my cat due to its loud sound and vibrations. After pulling my cat from hiding we managed to hold him down long enough to shave part of his back leg and bum. The clipper was great! The fur was coming off smoothly and effortlessly. But unfortunately our success was short lived as one of the attachment teeth dug into his leg and my poor Sawyer started bleeding. This made me question the clipper, so I wanted to try it on myself!

After shaving my head with The Andis EasyClip Li, I can definitely say that the attachment comb teeth are too sharp as I also cut myself while shaving. The attachment combs would definitely need to be blunter.

I also found the vibration of the clipper to be quite high. It shook my head to the point that I needed to take a break, it was giving me an upset stomach and I felt like was going to throw up.

This made me wonder how my cat felt…

PROS:

  • Durable case with foam lining.
  • Individually wrapped items.
  • Cordless feature.
  • Cuts fur effortlessly.

CONS:

  • Clipper is extremely loud and scares my cats.
  • Clipper does not come pre-charged (not a big deal, but some like to test items before charging)
  • Does not come with a cleaning brush.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this clipper to someone who is more seasoned in this craft. I, on the other hand, had no idea what I was doing and ended up causing more harm than good. I prefer to stick with my local groomer who knows what she is doing and has been using her professional Andis clipper for many years.

My first dog Pepper, was a Lhasa Apso and every spring we shaved him right down to the skin, like sheep. My daughter tried all sorts of razors to shave him, as Pepper was extremely nervous around pet groomers. My Pepper (rip) is gone now, and I have Buffy (Dachshund), no shaving her! Thank you for your review! 🙂
