Is it important to train your dog?
Training is an important part of any dog’s life, and is important for several reasons. It provides mental stimulation which helps to keep your dog happy. Increasing your dog’s social interaction will give him/her more confidence. Training your dog to have good manners and behave well in different situations requires effort, but consistent commitment ensures success.
Benefits of harness training
Having your dog wear a harness has many benefits over using a simple leash and collar. If your dog tends to pull while on walks, a harness can help train your pup not to do so. A harness will evenly distributes weight across a dog’s chest, whereas a collar does not. Another added benefit is that most harnesses have a handle on the back, allowing owners to assist dogs over barriers while on adventures or helping an older dog into the car.
Reward-based training
Reward-based training is enjoyable for a dog and positively enhances your relationship with your canine. Rewards may be in the form of a treat, favourite chew toy, or verbal praise such as “good dog!” in a pleasant tone of voice, to be given when the dog performs the ‘good’ behaviour. However, this doesn’t mean you do not discipline your dog. Guide your dog into making the right choices by choosing more constructive guidance rather than using an intimidation technique. Discipline in the form of time outs, removal, vocal interrupters or simply ignoring behavior that you do not like, are far more effective than harshly suppressing negative behavior.

Excellent fit, very adjustable harness. Love the reflective nylon for added visibility. This harness is great for dog who don’t like slipping the harness over their heads, simply unbuckle the harness for easy fitting. It can be a bit confusing at first to figure out how to put it on, but with the help of the Petsafe “how-to” video we eventually managed just fine. Great, strong quality! Would definitely recommend.

This treat pouch has proven itself to be invaluable. It’s a great tool for treat training your dog on the go. It’s so slim against your body that it doesn’t get in the way. LOVE the way the pouch stays open for easy access and how it closes with a simple touch. Treats even stay in place if you bend down. I have used this product every single day since I received it and it’s still going strong. The product has plenty of storage space and various compartments. The carabiner is useful for holding a poop-bag dispenser or a collapsible drinking bowl.

Excellent well made feeder, extremely quiet when operating. Setup and programming was easy and the food dispensing is extremely accurate (I have weighed the dispensed amounts to double check). The only down side to this feeder is it does not come with the power supply. I love that you can use batteries in this unit and that they made it an option to plug it into the wall. However, I wish they had included the plug as part of the unit. The price of the plug is totally ridiculous at $30 + taxes (Canadian).
