Food & Drinks Made in Canada Reviews

Zak Organics

Zak Organics is the creation of fourth-generation Saskatchewan farmers Marilyn & Allen Zak. They began making their snacks with a simple goal: create a clean, healthy alternative to typical snack foods. Naturally rich in protein, iron and fiber, whole green peas were selected to be their first line-up of snacks. They use only the best organic ingredients, and dress every bag of Crunchy Peas in aromatic natural herbs and spices.

Zak Organics’ Crunchy Green Peas are available in four very snack-able flavours: Smoky BBQ, Sea Salt & Lime, Garden Herb and Sweet Cocoa. We’ve tried them all and it was unanimous, our favourite was Garden Herb. We can also confirm that they are kid-tested and approved! Pleasantly crunchy, these snacks are easy to eat on the go, and are the perfect swap for whatever savoury, crunchy treat you usually enjoy.

All Zaks products are USDA and Canada Organic Certified, and free from trans-fat, cholesterol, dairy, gluten and artificial flavours or colours. Now that’s a snack that’s easy to feel good about.

Sea Salt & Lime

I have to admit, we found that these tasted a little weird but we quickly figured out what was missing…Beer! Funny as it would seem these would be awesome in a bar as an alternitive to peanuts.

Smoky BBQ

I clearly see the bag says PEAS, yet I swear I was eating BBQ peanuts. It’s crazy! I love that I don’t have to feel guilty grabbing a handful of these compared to a handful of BBQ peanuts.

Sweet Cocoa

Definitely a hit with the kids. It seems to remind them of that chocolate pebble cereal. They think I’m cool for letting them munch on chocolate, meanwhile my mind is at ease that they are enjoying a healthy snack.

Garden Herb

Our absolute fave. I’ve replaced my croutons in my salads with Zak’s Garden Herb Peas, that’s how much I love them! Where have these been all my life?

A Canadian company, certified organic making food that is high in protein, high in fiber, high in iron, gluten free and vegan. Could they be any more awesome? I guess we’ll have to keep our eyes on them to find out what they come up with next.
