Animals gain most of their information about the environment through their sense of smell. Your dog’s/cat’s nose tells him much more about his world and who is in it than his eyes. As for us humans, vision is the most important. We are fairly unique in our reliance on sight as the dominant sense.

We perceive up to 80% of all impressions by means of our sight. And if other senses such as taste or smell stop working, it’s the eyes that best protect us.

It’s important to care for even the smallest organs as each part is vital for making you whole!

I’ve always thought that a light bulb was just… well, a light bulb. It didn’t matter whether it was Incandescent, Fluorescent or Halogen they were all the same to me. As long as the bulb emitted light and I was able to read, it was good enough!

In fact, I’ll even share a secret with you. I used to buy my bulbs at the Dollarama (dollar store). I mean, how can you go wrong with four bulbs for a buck? SCORE! But I was so very wrong…

With children spending a significant amount of time under bright, artificial light, eyesight is the top concern of parents when it comes to their child’s health and well-being as well as their academic performance.

Parents take a keen interest in their children’s eyesight with over half (52 per cent) worried about how well they see/their eyesight closely followed by school performance (51 per cent), stress levels and mental health (50 per cent) and sleep (49 per cent). Over two thirds (68 per cent) of parents believe that quality lighting is vital to a child’s performance at school and almost all parents (96 per cent) believe that it is important for their child to get natural daylight. In an average day, children spend just over four hours a day under bright artificial light and three hours in front of a screen. With Philips LEDs, children can concentrate on reading and studying with less risk.
