About the company :

Oliver Plays is a small Etsy shop ran by a Mom who was inspired by her son.  After her son was born, she made her unique “Bag Doll” for him to hug, hold and rest his head on.  She also started making burp cloths.

After the birth of my little one Oliver, my husband and I were searching for a burp cloth that actually absorbed, weren’t just a diaper cloth and were funky and fun. We just couldn’t find any. So, we decided to make ones ourselves. And Oliver Burps was born.

One day I looked around my living room strewn with cars, trucks and wooden blocks and realized my son needed something to hug. I yelled to my husband, David, “D! Oliver needs a doll!” David grabbed a bag they had just emptied that held an organic pancake mix, stuffed it with some cloth scarps they had left over from their other product, Oliver Burps, tied it with a sailors knot and tossed it over.

True story.

Oliver dragged it everywhere and wouldn’t leave home without it. I called it his “bag doll.” When friends asked Me where Oliver got this doll…I decided to make them for everyone.

Bag dolls are 100% cotton, and are printed with non-toxic ink.  Burp cloths are made with 100% quality cotton flannel.

The ever so lovely Sarah sent me a 3-pack of burp cloths, and a bag doll.   A set of 3 burp cloths retails for 19.95$ on her Etsy shop, with the Bag Doll being only 12.50!  What a deal!  The quality of Oliver Plays and Oliver Burp products are extraordinary.  The material is thick, but soft.. perfect for spit up clean up.  No thin blankets that leak, here!

I can definitely see the appeal with the Bag Doll for children.  It’s a doll, it’s a pillow, it’s huggable.   No parts to fall off and cause a choking hazard, like some dolls.  It also has an area where you can write your childs name, so he or she never loses his precious Bag Doll!

These items would be perfect gifts for baby showers, or first birthdays! I definitely recommend checking out Sarah’s Etsy shop, and seeing what she has to offer 🙂
