Easter Toys

Hasbro Easter Treats Without the Sweets

Easter is right around the corner and it’s time to think of what to put in the little one’s Easter baskets.

We usually go with one chocolate bunny, a small toy or two (for those rainy days), spring clothes (because we all know they outgrew last year’s clothes over the winter) and some outdoor activities.   Last year, we got the kids each a new umbrella and rain boots instead of toys and they loved it.

Other items that are perfect for Easter are; Skipping rope, hula hoop, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, bucket and sand toys, sunglasses, flower seeds, crafts, colouring books etc.

If you are like me and give a small toy or two, we have a few suggestions from Hasbro that we are sure kids will love.

Play-Doh Kitchen Creations

With Play-Doh Kitchen Creations, the best ingredient of all is imagination!   Kids will love these sets!

My children love Play-Doh – They love it so much that they ask for it for their birthdays, Christmas and everything in between.

There are currently 3 Kitchen Creations sets to choose from; Shape N Slice, Sizzlin Stove Top and Noodle Makin’ Mania.

The Sizzlin Stove Top plays a sizzling sound when the skillet or pot is placed on the burners. My children really loved this feature and made “breakfast” while I was preparing our real breakfast.

My kids are having fun with @playdoh kitchen creations. This looks almost good enough to eat! #playdoh #hasbro #playdohkitchencreations #fun

Nerf Accustrike Alphahawk

Nerf – Every child loves Nerf. Growing up we had quite a few and would love to “battle” with my siblings.  Nerf guns today are so much cooler than what they used to be, that’s for sure!

Kids can strike with confidence as they blast darts designed for accuracy! The Nerf N-Strike AlphaHawk is part of the AccuStrike Series, which features darts designed for greater accuracy. Hit the mark with the precision of the most accurate Nerf darts. The AlphaHawk blaster fires 1 dart at a time from a revolving, easy-load drum that holds up to 5 darts. Take aim and strike like a hawk! The Alphahawk includes 10 Elite foam darts that are designed for greater accuracy.

Star Wars Extendable Lightsaber

Launch into action and adventure in the world of Star Wars!  You can feel like a Jedi with these Extendable Lightsabers.  that extends for a duel with a flick of the wrist.

Get ready to duel by extending the lightsaber with a flick of the wrist.

I know this is for ages 4+, but my 1-year-old is absolutely in love with it! He waves it around and tries to do lightsaber sounds by saying “shoo shoo”.

Love the Play-Doh options, will have to think about those for a few Easter gifts.

When my girls were much younger,I would have a Easter egg hunt in my home, they would find clues (usually 12) , numbered and a few small chocolate eggs at every clue. At the end, instead of a 5 foot chocolate rabbit. (or the like) they would find a bag of goodies, (I raided the dollar store.. lol) there would be pencils and colouring books, always socks (lol) and whatever was good for there age (Play-doh , was used in their younger years). When my grandchildren were born, I did it for them, for a couple of years, then let their moms take over. I am hoping that this tradition will go on forever. 🙂

  3. I like the idea of buying Easter treats that are more than just chocolate. The kids appreciate small toys and a new pair of rainboots or something! 🙂

    1. We did rain boots and umbrellas last year, the kids loved it!
