Epicure with Rebecca Middelton

About The Company :

Welcome to Epicure® — a unique, 100% Canadian, 100% family-owned, women-led company, committed to doing good by providing great food, a great living, and by giving back to Canadians and their communities.

Victorian Epicure Inc. was founded by Sylvie Rochette to address a genuine need for easy, healthful, and delicious mealtime solutions. With an initial offering of four hand-crafted spice blends sold from her station wagon at local markets and consumer trade shows, the overwhelming popularity and demand for Epicure products soon prompted the creation of Epicure®.

Epicure® follows a party-plan direct sales distribution model to share our evolving product line. Today, Sylvie is pleased and proud to see thousands of Independent Epicure Consultants across Canada share her “recipe for success” with their own home-based Epicure businesses.

About The Items I Received :

Rebecca sent me a silicone rectangular steamer (ARP 20.00$), and “Good Mexican. Real Fact” spice/mix trio (ARP 24.50$).  When I opened up my package and read that it was suggested I used my Mexican spice mixes to make Fajitas in the steamer, including chicken, I was a bit apprehensive.  The steamer is made for the microwave only, and making meat in the microwave, especially poultry, honestly scared me!

Included in the Good Mexican. Real Fast trio, is Poco Picante Salsa Mix, Fajita Seasoning, Guacamole Dip Mix.

I sprinkled some fajita seasoning on a chicken breast, and put it in the steamer along with a cut-up onion.  I also put a dash of the salsa mix on top, just for added flavour.   I microwaved my meat for 7 minutes.  I was extremely surprised to find fully cooked, juicy chicken.  Using the steamer is such a great way to make meals fast, and delicious.  I was blown away by it.  Epicure has recipes on their website that I plan to check out.  Although the steamer is big enough for just two people,  I think it’s the perfect tool to use if you’re cooking for a single person. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can use your steamer!

Epicure sends you some recipe cards with your order,  and they suggest different ways to use the items you have purchased.  For myself, I got the Easy Mexican Frittata recipe card, Mexican Hot Layer Dip recipe card, and Chicken Fajitas. All use the Good Mexican. Real Fast trio, and the steamer.   The steamer also comes with a cooking chart, that lets you know how long to steam whatever it is you’re wanting to make.  Vegetables, Seafood and Poultry categories.

I highly recommend this fantastic duo. Every kitchen needs these!
