2015 Reading Challenge

I know we’re already 5 months into 2015, but I thought I would start a reading challenge as of today, May 1st.  I got the inspiration from a friend of mine who is also doing a reading challenge for this year.   After searching on Pinterest for more ideas of themes to read about, I found a few more similar challenges.  I took them all, and made my ‘perfect challenge list’ and I thought I would share it with you all.

I was always big into reading.  Even as a child in elementary school I was choosing chapter books from the library while my peers were choosing short stories.  I was even told I was going too advanced for my age and to choose a book like my friends, and not get ahead of myself.

I’ve read many series, but lately I haven’t been taking the time for myself, to do things I really enjoy – like reading! I want to be able to sit with a mug of tea, candles lit, and a good book.  This challenge will help me get back into that groove.  My list has 42 ‘themes’ and I understand I may not finish it in 2015, but I don’t want to set myself up for failure, so if I don’t finish them all by December 31st, it’s no big deal.. I will continue into 2016, and get these books read as fast as I can.   I plan to get all these books as paper-backs, not through an e-reader.  There’s just something about flipping the page of a real book that can’t be satisfied by swiping to the next page on an e-reader.

Comment below if you’ve ever done a similar challenge, or if you have suggestions on books that fit certain themes that you think I should read!
